This year is Crossgates CC’s 120th birthday. But we’re planning for the next 120 years.

Over the last few years, we’ve become a diverse, inclusive, future-facing cricket club represented by players of English, Pakistani, Indian and Sri Lankan heritage playing regularly for the club, from Crossgates and the surrounding areas.

The club embraces players from all different backgrounds and ethnicities. We attribute much of our success over the last three years to this inclusiveness and we will be starting 2019 in Division 1 and 3 of the Wetherby League.

Crossgates Cricket Club’s five year plan

Our ambitions for 2019-2024:

  • Improve our training facilities
  • Increase the club’s revenue to build on our progress
  • Establish a youth coaching programme
  • Establish youth and women’s cricket teams
  • Win a piece of silverware – a league or cup competition
  • Train the coaches of the future

We are led by an ECB Level II coach

IMG_0023Crossgates CC’s Chairman and Head Coach, Gian Singh Virdi has coached players at Yorkshire CCC like Adil Rashid and international stars like VVS Laxman and Yuraj Singh. And now he’s focused on coaching the players of the future:

“It’s about teaching young boys and girls discipline, focus, and the skills to make the most of their potential.”
Gian Singh Virdi
